Environmental licences, COSHH substances, inspections and incidents already held in SafetyOps are mapped against ISO 14001:2018's clause structure automatically.
Platform
ISO 14001 Readiness
See where your live records sit against the clauses of ISO 14001:2018 — an environmental-management preparation aid, never a certification.
Overview
ISO 14001 Readiness maps SafetyOps' own live data against the clause structure of ISO 14001:2018 (clauses 4–10) — environmental licences and COSHH substances to environmental aspects and compliance obligations, training to competence, incidents and findings to corrective action, and so on.
Each clause shows one of: records in place, records present with items flagged, no records found here, or your input required — with a link straight to the module that holds the evidence.
It is a preparation aid only. ISO 14001 certification is granted by an accredited certification body after an audit; SafetyOps never asserts that your records satisfy a clause — a competent person makes that call.
Why it matters
An ISO 14001 gap analysis normally means working manually down 25-odd clauses. Because your environmental licences, COSHH register, inspections and incidents are already connected in SafetyOps, this readiness view is generated on the spot from real data.
Benefits
Built from real records
Environmental licences, COSHH substances, inspections and incidents already held in SafetyOps — nothing re-entered.
Clause-by-clause, with links
Each ISO 14001 clause links to the SafetyOps module that holds its evidence, or flags it as your input.
Never a certification
A preparation aid only — certification is granted by an accredited body after audit, never by SafetyOps.
Workflow
- Open ISO 14001 Readiness — the view is built from your existing records, nothing to set up.
- Work down the clauses: follow the link to the module for any clause that needs attention, or record a documented statement (aspects register, EMS scope, objectives) for a 'your input required' clause.
- Print or save the readiness view as a PDF to share with a consultant or your certification body ahead of an audit.
Interface
A dedicated interface for this module already exists in the SafetyOps application.
Frequently asked questions
Does this certify us to ISO 14001?
No. It is a self-assessment aid that shows which clauses SafetyOps already holds records for and which need your own input. ISO 14001 certification is granted only by an accredited certification body after an audit, and a competent person decides whether your records satisfy each clause.
How does it handle the environmental aspects register (6.1.2)?
SafetyOps evidences it partially — from your environmental licences and COSHH substances. A full aspects/impacts register (air, water, waste, land, resource use, nuisance) is a documented record you maintain and hold under Documents; the readiness view flags this so it isn't missed.
