A photo of a completed repair or a certificate attaches directly to the compliance record it supports, distinct from versioned controlled documents.
Platform
Evidence Library
Flat, non-versioned attachments and verifiable proof linked to compliance objects.
Overview
The Evidence Library holds evidence records — proof attached to a compliance object — distinct from the Document Centre's versioned controlled documents.
Photo evidence can be geo-tagged with an on-device GPS location, marked up with real annotation tools (arrows, boxes, circles, text), and its description dictated by voice — all optional, on top of the standard upload.
Why it matters
Not everything is a controlled document with versions — a photo of a completed repair, or a certificate, is evidence of a point-in-time fact, and needs its own simpler home.
Benefits
Verifiable proof
Evidence records are distinct from versioned documents — simpler, point-in-time proof.
Linked to compliance objects
Evidence connects to the record it actually supports.
Geo-tagged photos
Capture the exact location a photo was taken, with your explicit permission each time.
Photo annotation
Draw arrows, boxes, circles and labels directly onto evidence photos to highlight what matters.
Voice-to-text notes
Dictate an evidence description instead of typing it, on supported browsers.
Workflow
- Attach evidence to the record it supports (e.g. a completed action).
- Optionally add the location it was captured at, mark up the photo to highlight what matters, or dictate the description instead of typing it.
- Evidence is held as a flat, non-versioned record — proof of what happened, not a document to be revised.
Interface
A dedicated interface for this module already exists in the SafetyOps application.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between Evidence and Documents?
Documents are versioned, controlled records (policies, SDS). Evidence is flat, non-versioned proof (a photo, a certificate) attached to a specific compliance record.
