Reasoning already captured elsewhere

The Applicability Engine and Safety Requirements Register already keep a clear record of why a candidate was suggested — a Decision Engine would formalise that further.

A dedicated 'why' record is next

A standalone Decision Engine is the planned direction, extending traceability rather than duplicating what already exists.

Overview

A dedicated Decision Engine is planned — nothing dedicated exists yet. The Applicability Engine and Safety Requirements Register already capture much of this reasoning today, which a future Decision Engine will formalise further.

Why it matters

As more of SafetyOps' reasoning becomes automated, being able to answer 'why' for any given output becomes more important, not less.

Interface

A dedicated interface preview will be added here as this module is built.

Frequently asked questions

Isn't this the same as the Safety Requirements Register?

They're related but distinct — the Register already captures a requirement's justification. A future Decision Engine would formalise and extend that traceability further, not duplicate it.
