Vehicle records, driver competence, driving-for-work risk assessments and road incidents are mapped against ISO 39001:2012's Road Traffic Safety clauses.
Platform
ISO 39001 Readiness
See where your records sit against ISO 39001:2012 — a Road Traffic Safety management system for organisations that drive for work.
Overview
ISO 39001:2012 is the international standard for a Road Traffic Safety (RTS) management system — for any organisation whose people drive, or whose work generates road traffic. This readiness view maps SafetyOps' own live data against its clauses: the vehicle register, driver training and competence, driving-for-work risk assessments, road incident investigation, monitoring and management review.
Each clause shows one of: records in place, records present with items flagged, no records found here, or your input required — with a link to the module that holds the evidence.
It is a preparation aid only. ISO 39001 certification is granted by an accredited certification body after an audit; a competent person decides whether your records satisfy a clause.
Why it matters
For fleet-heavy operations — waste, haulage, plant, end-of-life vehicle sites — road risk is often the single largest cause of work-related death. ISO 39001 is the recognised framework for managing it, and this view shows where you stand against it using records you already keep.
Benefits
Built from your fleet data
The vehicle register, driver competence, driving risk assessments and road incidents already held in SafetyOps.
Clause-by-clause, with links
Each ISO 39001 clause links to the SafetyOps module that holds its evidence, or flags it as your input.
Never a certification
A preparation aid only — certification is granted by an accredited body after audit, never by SafetyOps.
Workflow
- Open ISO 39001 Readiness — built from your existing records, nothing to set up.
- Work down the clauses: follow the link to the module for any clause that needs attention; determine and record your RTS performance factors and objectives for the 'your input required' items.
- Print or save as a PDF to work through with a consultant or your certification body.
Interface
A dedicated interface for this module already exists in the SafetyOps application.
Frequently asked questions
Does this certify us to ISO 39001?
No. It is a self-assessment aid showing which clauses SafetyOps already holds records for and which need your own input. ISO 39001 certification is granted only by an accredited certification body after an audit.
What are RTS performance factors?
ISO 39001 asks each organisation to determine which road-risk factors it can influence and measure — exposure (distance, traffic, road and vehicle type), speed, vehicle condition, driver fitness (fatigue, alcohol and drugs), use of seatbelts, journey planning and post-crash response. The readiness view flags this as your input because only you can set it for your operation.
